Worship Assistants Needed!

One of the things that makes worship at Faith so special is that we are a progressive group of renaissance men and women, always ready to love our neighbor as ourselves. We are also special because we have this wonderful building, this beautiful organ (which we built ourselves, thank you very much!), and a phenomenal worship team who helps us continue to serve a classic worship service with a modern twist.

But these services don’t keep their old-world charm without help from the congregation. We need you to assist! here’s what we need:

  • A leader of the Assistants. This is a task that Pam Paff absolutely blew out of the water for a full decade, and now has offered to train our next organizer. Tasks include confirming assignments with individuals who have already signed up to participate, making reminder calls, emails or texts, and ensuring that the roles are filled. If this interests you, you don’t have to commit to ten years right now. Even just one month will help!

  • Crucifer. Tasks include processing the cross up to the altar, assisting in administering communion where needed, and marching the cross back down at the end of the service.

  • Lector. This is a good one. Just be prepared to read aloud. If there are any of those biblical words that are sure to trip you up (is it Mel-kih-ze-deck, or Mel-chi-zi-deck?), we’ll help with pronunciation!

  • Setting up communion. If you want to help with worship, but aren’t ready to come in yourself, or want to stay behind-the-scenes, this is perfect for you. In the interest of keeping our campus covid-free, you come into church during the week prior to the service and fill up ~100 cups with wafers & wine. (If you’re lucky, we’ll send you home with some!)

  • Sound. Many thanks to our dear Sexton who ran the sound board during worship for years. In his absence, it’s time to distribute the work. This is a good one if you don’t want to be front-and-center. Your job here is just to make sure the mics are on and the speakers are audible! Training is available.

If you’re interested in any of the above, fill out the form below!
