Re-Formation, Pt 1

The Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church Council has had discussion, and is making a concerted effort to encourage all members and regular associates to make a commitment to take an active role in the workings of this Congregation.

You are a part of this church family. Your participation is important to the whole. There are many moving parts in a Church Family…none of them are unimportant. All aspects require work and attention to maintain function and growth. This is God’s church with Jesus Christ as leader; this is OUR church to nurture; this is YOUR church and there is a place waiting for your time and talents to care for.

Our FELC Constitution notes many opportunities for all members to serve in an active role. Chapter 12.04.b of our Constitution reads:
“The Congregation Council shall have general oversight of the life and activities of this congregation, and in particular its worship life, to the end that everything be done in accordance with the Word of God and the faith and practice of the
Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The duties of the Congregation Council shall include the following:
b) To seek to involve all members of this congregation in worship, learning, service and support.

There are 4 major components of the overall organization we call Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church that make up our Ministry. Those are:

  • Worship and Music ministry

  • Parish Ministry

  • Community Ministry

  • Administrative Ministry

Each of these “wheels” has many smaller component parts that each has a function in the smooth running of that larger Ministry. Take your part in at least one of those smaller components. Do not sign up for a long term contract to one, just take your part to add to the whole.

There is a place for you to participate regardless of how extensive or how limited your
capacity may be. Stay tuned over the next few weeks to learn more about the opportunities for YOUR time and talents.

In grateful service,
Your Church Council
