Faith Thrivent Volunteers Make Chilly Mornings Warmer

Lutheran Social Ministry finds that teens moving here for foster care often arrive with little more than the clothes on their backs. Same goes for refugee families. It’s still chilly for early morning walks and bus rides to work and school. So LSM has reached out for jackets and hoodies to keep kids warm. Using a $250 Thrivent Action Team grant….Faith Lutheran volunteers recently headed for Costco. Because our Costco contact set aside several jackets that had just gone on sale, we were able to turn our Thrivent dollars into 23 name brand jackets that will be distributed to teen age boys and girls. We received a warm “Thank You” when we made the delivery to LSM headquarters. Brenda Lund, Jennie Carr, Jeff Havir, and Fred Cowley (with a helping hand from Costco) participated in the project.

Call Fred Cowley if you have questions!
