Faith-La Fe at Melrose Street Fair

If you were wondering what some other members of Faith-La Fe were up to on Saturday, you might have stopped by our booth at Melrose Street Fair, where we were set up at the corner of 7th Ave and Montecito. Cody Schaar and Vint Lackey manned the table from set-up to breakdown while a revolving door of volunteers like Dave McKee, Chris Jacobson, Pastor Linman & Deacon Intern Carly offered smiles & information to passersby for a shift or two. A special shoutout to Scott Ulmer and Gail Turner who left their shifts volunteering at the Creighton Family Resource Center only to spend their days tabling at the street fair as well.

Wouldn’t you know it, every tenth person who walked past our tent knew Vint personally and he must’ve handed out 200 welcome cards to other strangers. The wind started to pick up around 2:30pm which led a lot of other vendors to pack up their booths to get out of the wind, the people of Faith-La Fe stayed until the windy, bitter end.

All in all, we had a fun time! Next year, we hope to have even more swag & informational packets to hand out to attendees of the street fair, including a pocket-sized Luther’s Small Catechism. If you’re interested in knowing more about Luther’s Small Catechism, make sure to join us on Wednesday evenings in Lent for soup supper, conversation & prayer!
