Blue Christmas

By Nick Pegelow

On Tuesday night, the longest night of the year, I assisted in leading a “Blue Christmas” service in the Chapel. The service was a contemplative space to acknowledge that the Christmas season isn’t always, or even often “merry.” We acknowledged our pain and grief, remembered those we love and miss, and looked forward with assurance that our current feelings of loss and grief will be consoled. Merry Christmas to all who don’t find joy this time of year. Your feelings are valid, and you’re not alone.
