This week’s news & notes

There’s a lot happening on campus right now! It’s not quite enough for its own article, but it’s too much for the announcements in the bulletin, so here you have it!

Faith Lutheran Preschool is hiring qualified applicants for the role of teacher. This is a great opportunity to grow your skills as a childcare provider, and to support Faith’s ministries. Check out their careers page to apply!

This is your reminder that we will not be offering on-demand worship services this coming Sunday, July 25, or next Sunday, August 1 because Nick Pegelow, our regular videographer (previous council president and all around jack-of-all-trades) is on vacation! As a result, his sweet doglet, Finch, is spending the days here in the church office, learning about the Gospel of John with the attendees of our bible study!

In case you can’t make it to worship this weekend, here is the bulletin for the 9th Sunday after Pentecost!

This brings me so smoothly to my next point: We are getting internet services in the sanctuary! That means that next time Nick is on vacation, you don’t have to worry about recording worship because you’ll be able to join a live stream! This has been a pretty significant undertaking for Pastor Sarah Isakson, Vicar Veronica Alvarez, all of the church council, and myself, but things really started moving this week! On Tuesday morning, a half dozen construction trucks parked on campus and built the infrastructure to install internet capabilities in the sanctuary! They completed their connectivity work on Thursday, and we should be live streaming by the end of August! I am so excited to share this update with you, as it’s been quite a work in progress.

Please note that live streaming our worship services does come with a price tag, as does this added internet capability on campus. If you would like to contribute more to our worship funds, please submit your offering with a designation of “worship ministries.”

Speaking of dollars and cents, you’ll never guess what we did in the month of June. Okay, I’ll tell you. With nothing but pocket change, we scraped together over two hundred dollars to donate to ReconcilingWorks, our partner in ministry. Great job, everyone!!! Thank you for all that you do!

Last, but certainly not least, the list of repairs on campus just continues to grow! Next time you’re here, take a look at the exterior doors to Parish Hall, which have been stained and sealed for outdoor wear and tear. While you’re at it, feel free to pop your head into the chapel to see the fresh coat of paint on the walls, and the new flooring! You’ll also notice that crumbling concrete on campus has been patched up, and many other out-of-place things have been placed back into their homes.

As always, Jane will be here on Fridays working on these repairs. Thanks to her many years working as a handy-woman, she is an excellent teacher. If there is something that you’d like to do around your house, but don’t have all of the know-how that you need, come on down to church any Friday as early as 7am or as late as noon to practice your skills before applying them at home!
