The 12 Steps: A Way Out
By Pastor Sarah Isakson
I’ve learned a lot in my four decades of sobriety, and much of my learning has come from actively working the 12 steps every day of my life. This is why I would like to introduce to the people of Faith a 12-step program called The 12 Steps - A Way Out.
Description: The guide that we will use in this program is the ideal working guide for adults who seek healing from the hurtful effects of live events and experiences. These damaged emotions influence our current views and choices. Through the use of the Twelve Step process and power of self-disclosure, the 12 steps - a way out becomes a road map on the journey toward lasting change and healing. The path toward wholeness is one of surrender. The 12 Steps - A Way Out gently leads the reader through a process of accepting a power greater than ourselves, rather than a false trust in ones wounded self.
This is a once-weekly, 14-week program that will start in July. We will take a Summer Pause for three weeks in August, and then resume the last ten weeks of the program to complete in September and October.
We will have two study groups for this journey. The first will meet on Mondays at 5pm, the second on Tuesdays at 8am. I will be leading the Forum after worship on Sunday, July 11 with a brief informational Q&A session about the program and workbook.
