Remaining a Reconciling in Christ Congregation

Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church became an Reconciling in Christ (RIC) Congregation in 1994… an early forerunner in the commitment to inclusion of all people of God in the Church. Earlier this year we received notification that our Congregation is not getting credit as a church body for this, because we do not submit money annually as a Congregation. There are several members here at FELC who are individual supporters, so the Church Council considered this and voted to ask individuals to submit their financial support for Reconciling Works (Lutherans for Full Participation) as a “passthrough” to them from our established budget as an ELCA Congregation.

If you are one of our members who does support Reconciling Works already, you are not being asked for additional money, simply submit your check to FELC with a notation of “RIC/ Reconciling Works” in the memo line. If you have not been a financial supporter of this effort, here is your opportunity to do so!

We are proud to be an RIC Congregation. Some of Reconciling Works major plans for 2022 include active participation through:

  • ELCA Youth Gathering

  • ELCA Churchwide Assembly

  • a 4 week Sunday School Curriculum celebrating LGBTQIA+ people

  • PRIDE Worship and Resource materials

Please join in this method of having our Congregation represented officially!

Thank you, Gail Turner, Church Council Secretary
