Loving Our Neighbor with Sack Lunches

Edited to add: The turnout for these two dates has been so good, and the feedback so positive that we’ve taken on two more Tuesdays to supply lunch to Grace’s Heat Respite beneficiaries. Join us on Sunday, July 4, and Sunday, August 1 to stuff more lunch bags for our siblings in need. Sign up below!

Our mother church, Grace Lutheran, has begun an effort to act as a heat respite for those experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, and who lack access to air conditioning. One of the ways this program helps our neighbors is by offering them sack lunches. As members of the body of Christ, whose mandate it is to care for our neighbors, we are so excited to provide food to our neighbors on Tuesday, June 15 and Tuesday, June 29.

Because it’s for lunch on a Tuesday, we’ll need to prepare these lunch bags on Sunday, June 13 and Sunday June 27 after the service.

If you would like to contribute, but are not able to join in the kitchen, we are accepting financial contributions for the groceries needed for the sack lunches. If you’d like to allocate some or all of your contribution to this effort, please write “Sack Lunches” on the special designation line of your offering envelope, or the memo line of your check.

Please use the sign-up form below to register for one or both Sundays to lovingly prepare these meals for our family in Christ.
