Advent Soup Suppers
ETA 11/24: All slots for soup have been filled! Thank you! Please come with an empty belly, and leave with a full heart, as they say.
Well, you guys. The time has come! Can you believe we’re coming up on another covid Christmas? Me neither! And that’s because we’re not! We’re still deep in the pandemic, but thanks to modern marvels and miracles of science, we get to hold most of our usual Advent Season activities.
As we prepare ourselves for the annual Chili Bake Sale on Sunday, December 5, immediately following the 9am service, we’ve got more soup assignments for you!
ALL are invited to join us in Parish Hall at 5pm on Wednesdays in Advent. We will commune with one another over a meal of soup and bread, followed by a service of prayer at 6pm. The theme for advent is a cherished one: God among us. Each week, we will explore the themes of each advent candle (hope, peace, joy, and love), and have a conversation with a member of a local community organization who has seen that theme in their work.
Now that you know what you’ll be doing on Wednesday nights in December, perhaps you’d like to round out your calendar with plans for which soup supper you’ll provide! We are looking for 3 individuals each week to bring one pot of soup. We’ve got bowls, spoons, and bread, so please use the sign up form below to let the Committee know when you plan to bring your soupy masterpiece.
If you would prefer, please feel free to call or email the church office at 602-265-3394 or info@faithalive.com.
