Opportunities to Serve

Faith ELCA is built upon the Christian tradition of serving Christ while serving others. We fervently believe in the "priesthood of all believers," meaning that every person who is a member of Faith Lutheran Church is called by Christ to serve all of God's people. Just as Christ called his disciples into His work, we understand that we continue to be called in this way to provide for the world loved by God.

There are many ways in which you can get involved in the life and ministry of Faith Lutheran Church. What are your gifts? Where do you find your joy in serving? We invite you to look through the various ministries of Faith Lutheran Church and consider getting involved with one or more of our teams! Do you have a new idea for a ministry? Let us know!

Evangelism Team

Helps the congregation understand that everything we are and do is evangelism and outreach. Maintains a system by which those who visit Faith's worship receive a timely response to their interest in our ministry and we express our interest in having them join us. Designs thoughtful ways to reach out to the people of our neighborhood and our part of Phoenix with the love that God has for them in Jesus.

Social Justice Team

The purpose of the Social Justice Ministry is to provide opportunities in the congregation for education and activities, including advocacy, to promote social and economic justice in our community. It interacts with the Outreach Ministry in identifying social and economic conditions in the community that deserve thoughtful study and evaluation in light of principles of Christian social and economic justice.

It identifies and engages policy makers with whom education and advocacy could lead to improved social and economic conditions, especially for the poor and marginalized in our community.

Finance Team

This team works to draft a budget for the upcoming year, The budget is submitted to the Church Council for approval and then at the annual Financial meeting in January. The team also oversees all financial matters of the congregation to make sure that they are being conducted efficiently, and is responsible for the congregation's investments throughout the year.

We receive quarterly copies of the budget to compare with actual spending reports in order to track how the Church is doing with the projected revenues and expenses and compare them to the actual revenues and expenses.

Stewardship Team

Members of this team work together to evoke and promote the expression of Christian faith in daily living; to teach the Christian use of time, talent and treasure; to diffuse the knowledge of the congregation's local, national and worldwide ministries; and to lead all its members to higher levels of proportionate giving for the Lord's work. We are also responsible in leading the congregation members into a spirit of generosity and informed, committed and grateful giving.
